Whether for fun, for sport, or for both, your child wants to dance. They can’t help but start movin’ and groovin’ when music starts to play. They love weddings, parties, and any opportunity to express themselves out on the dance floor. You know that they love to dance and want to dance, you know that you want to sign them up for dance classes — but which class is the right one for them?

Fear not, for our dance instructors know exactly how to help your child get set up with a class they’ll be sure to fall in love with. As Corona’s dance and yoga studio of choice, there’s never been a better time than now for you to enroll your child in something they’re bound to enjoy. See all of our dance class options, and when you’re ready, contact K2 Dance Studios to sign up!

If they’re really young…

You’ll want to start your kiddo in a dance class that’s age-level appropriate. This means no more than 30 minutes for kids under the age of 6-7, and one where they’re just starting to learn some fun fundamentals of dance. Our Princess Ballet class is a great option for toddlers, and children as young as 18 months can enroll! They’ll get to move around to some awesome tunes, have fun socializing with their peers, and you’ll probably have just as much fun watching your toddler run around in a tutu.

If they love making sounds…

Tons of kids love making noises, emitting sounds, and, of course, turning kitchen pots into their own personal drumset. If this sounds like your child, they’ll probably be pretty keen on learning tap dance.

Tap is an excellent form of dance for anyone to learn, but this is especially true for our noisemakers of the world. Kids in tap class will continue to learn rhythm and foot technique, and get to make fun sounds with their feet while they’re at it!

If they love listening to hip hop/rap…

They’ll probably fall in love with our hip hop class. The fast-paced, high energy nature of hip hop dance makes it an excellent class for anyone to enjoy. Your child will thoroughly enjoy getting to learn some of the current moves of today, as well as learn the basics that have built an incredible artistic foundation in the music and dance world. This class is available at different levels for three-year-olds and up!

If they love watching dancers…

Sign your child up for one of our many available ballet classes! Ballet is a foundation upon which most dancers build their practice (and even careers). If your young one is transfixed when they watch performers, or they love watching dance videos on YouTube, they’ll love getting to build up their dance know-how and skills by advancing through our ballet courses. The skills they learn and develop in ballet can be applied to so many other types of dance, as well as to so many other areas of life in general.

If they love competition…

Get them prepared and ready for our competitive dance team auditions! This is a high-level team that performs and competes at various dance meets around the Corona area. For the kids who love to practice for a big meet or a big game and are driven by competition, this is an excellent option for them to become involved in. Auditions start July 31st this year — check out our page to get even more information!

If they need to work on self-control…

We offer tons of yoga courses at K2 Dance Studios! Yoga is becoming increasingly popular for kids, due to how it helps teach self-management and regulation skills at a young age. YouTube channels, teachers, and even schools have all recently become more devoted to bringing yoga in as a daily part of a child’s life. Signing them up for classes at our dance and yoga studio is another great way to help your child continue to develop their sense of patience, mindfulness, and self-control.
