At K2 studios
we offer a competition team that fosters a deeper love of dance and strong bonds with other dancers that last a lifetime. On our competition teams we offer a wide range of levels and all age groups are welcome to be apart of the team. Our auditions for the competition team are held towards the end of the summer. Practice will begin in the fall as this gives the dancers enough time to learn the dances and allots enough time for the dances to be cleaned to perfection.
The biggest difference between being a recreational dancer and being a competition dancer is the level of drive and character that is achieved through being on a team. When dancers are apart of a team they are given the chance not only to work with others but are pushed to want to push themselves for the team. This builds dancers that want to work hard and want to excel. As a recreational dancer your child is still of course given the same classes and the same quality of teaching as the competition dancers but what they are missing is that team connection that can only make a dancer stronger.
The relationships that your child makes within their team are relationships that will last long past when they walk off the stage. My sister and I are lifelong friends with the dancers that we danced with when we were younger and these relationships would not have been achieved if we had not been competitive dancers. As a member of the competition team you and your dancer have the opportunity to travel with the team. In our first year we traveled to so many new places and we hope to continue to expand our dancers knowledge of dance and the way the industry works.
